A Series of 1935 A $1 Small Size Silver Certificate Fr#1608 (XC Block) with signatures Julian/Morgenthau and Serial # X30886261C graded Very Fine 25 with an annotation for Butterfly Fold Error) by PMG. This note displays an off white paper color with light brown soiling typical for the grade, visible folds/creases, very nice visible butterfly fold on the right hand obverse margin and uneven reverse margins. Silver certificates were a form of paper currency produced from 1878 - 1964 and were issued as a type of representative money. Initially made in response to the Fourth Coinage Act which placed the United States under the gold standard, the bills were meant to be redeemed for their face value in silver coin and later from June 1967 - June 1968 in raw silver bullion.
